  5. This program is a drop box for System 7.  Drop text files on top of this program to concatenate (or stick) them together.

  7. It currently has four settings:
  8.  
  9. 1. Put headers on each file
  10. This will put the name of each file in front of its text in the new combined file.  I found it very hard to read my ‘C’ code that was concatenated together without headers.
  11. The text for the header can be changed. To have the file name appead in the header, type the letters '^f' or carrat + 'f'.

  13. 2. Move file to trash
  14. After combining the files into one combined file, the originals will be placed into the trash
  15.  
  16. 3. Page breaks
  17. Put page breaks between files.  If you are using a program to print multiple columns of text on a page, this will force a new document to the next column.

  19. 4. Reverse Order
  20. Many People have asked for the ability to combine files in reverse order. Well, I finally did it.

  23. Option key: You can set the preferences on the fly by holding down the Option-key while you drop files onto Text Streamer. Now I don’t have five copies on my desktop. ::)

NOTE: Like most Seven drop programs, Text Streamer checks the keyboard for the option key when it loads. Just because you held down the option key when you dropped doesn’t mean you can let go immediately, just wait for about a second. Sorry, but the Apple Event from the Finder doesn’t tell me this.

  35. There is now a dialog that shows what file is currently being processed. You can cancel the process by clicking on the cancel button in the window.

  37. Text Streamer now works in the background due to the new dialog. It doesn’t switch automatically so you will have to click on a window in the background.

  42. Bug fix - If new stream was not on the system disk then Text Streamer was very slow at copying the temp file to the other drive. I increased the buffer size.

  49. Bug Fix - The ‘Move Files to Trash’ option had a bug. If a file of the same name existed in the Trash, then TextStreamer would return an error. It now renames the file already in the trash to “«name» copy #”.
